The United Methodist Women will be presenting their annual awards to its members, including the UMW Special Mission Recognition recipient. Emily Points, the UMW scholarship recipient for 2012-2013, will share her experiences of her freshman year at the University of Tulsa. $8.00 for lunch. No reservations needed. It's missions, right here in our own neighborhood for 7th-12th grade students. 8:15-noon, on June 6, 20 and 27, and July 11, 18 and 25, and August 1. Meet at Venue wearing closed-toe shoes.

 

This day trip will begin with a tour of the Tulsa tunnels, beginning at the Philcade Building and including other places reminiscent of the opulent days of the early 1900's. Shuttles will take us to Reservoir Hill, the world's tallest oil derrick, and other fascinating sites. Lunch will be at Ollie's Station Restaurant, encircled with railroad motif and model trains. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. Cost is $15 per person. Deadline is June 11.

 

This is a summer literacy camp for underserved elementary-aged children in Oklahoma. Volunteers help children with reading and other skills. To volunteer, contact Joanne at 918.622.3614. Will be held at Southern Hills UMC here in Tulsa.
