You Can Help Your Students Learn to Pray

1. Encourage students to pray by modeling rather by instruction
2. Make it clear that prayer is talking (or listening) to God, not to each other
3. Don’t give advice or pass gossip and call it praying
4. Don’t spend your prayer time talking about what to pray for.
5. Relish Silence
6. Assure students that they can pray freely
7. Keep a prayer journal for your group
8. Assign new prayer partners each week for ongoing support
