Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers needed for Stephen Ministry. Stephen Ministers provide confidential one-on-one weekly support and prayer for people who are going through a crisis or time of transition. Fifty hours of training required; then about eight hours per month. Total commitment is 1-1/2 years. Contact Charlene Giles at 392-1145.

Visitors needed for Asbury Connection Ministry. If you can make twice-a-month visits to members who are homebound or in nursing homes, etc., please contact Abby Sluice at ozyanks2000@yahoo.com or call Ruth Winn at 392-1146.

Volunteers needed for Respite Care Ministry. In collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association, volunteers provide the support and temporary relief needed by those who give 24-hour attention to individuals who have Alzheimer’s disease and cannot care for themselves. Training for volunteers is provided by the Alzheimer’s Association. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Carl Richards at tulsahogs@cox.net or call Ruth Winn at 392-1146.

Hospital Visitors Needed. If you can make once-a-week hospital visits (for one month out of the year) to Asbury members who are hospitalized contact LaWana Axtell at lawanap@hotmail.com or call Ruth Winn at 392-1146.

Volunteers needed for Prayer Card Ministry. If you have skills in drawing, coloring, painting, calligraphy, scrap booking, card stamping, and/or MS Publisher, contact GRMOHLER@aol.com. Minimal time required.
