Can I designate my giving to something that is not in the plans for this phase?
A great deal of time and study went into the decisions that resulted in the components of phase two of expansion. As a result, the Administrative Council and the church body approved those components and the required funding specifically. Also, any funds above the required level for the whole project were approved to go to debt reduction. Therefore, funds designated for other purposes are not part of this campaign. - 4/11/06
Can I designate my pledge to a specific component or components that are already part of the overall expansion plan?
Our consultant, RSI has advised us, based on their experience in thousands of stewardshihp programs, not to accept such directed giving. Therefore all pledges received will be applied to the entire project. - 4/11/06
In what way are we planning to assist other area UM churches?
We will be providing funding for Abiding Harvest to build their new
church on 129th E. Ave. in Broken Arrow. We will contribute $ 125,000 over a 3 year period to their building campaign. We have also committed to provide $ 125,000 over a 3 year period to a project associated with the United Methodist Church in Tulsa but we have yet to identify exactly what that project is. Thanks for your question. - 4/7/06
How much should I give?
That is a private decision that we urge you to reach only after prayerful consideration of what sacrifice means to you. - 4/6/06
How often do I give?
You determine your giving schedule, but we encourage you to make it regular. Most people will give monthly; some will give weekly, quarterly, semi-annually and a few give once a year. - 4/6/06
When do I begin giving?
The three-year giving phase begins on Celebration Sunday, June 25. To that event, we will be giving our first fruits offerings to the campaign. - 4/6/06
What is my next step?
Complete the commitment card you receive in the mail or at the Advance Commitment Gathering, fill it out and turn it in. - 4/6/06
What is a commitment card and why use it?
First, our campaign commitment card is not a contract, but a simple statement of intent. For our finance department, knowledge of what dollar amounts to expect is critical in planning wisely throughout the project. - 4/6/06
Is my commitment confidential?
Absolutely. It will not be used in any public way. - 4/6/06
If necessary, may I change my commitment?
Of course. Should changing circumstances force you to alter your giving plan, just call the church financial office and adjust the amount. - 4/6/06
